Company delivers deepfake protection for video conferencing, broadens identity attack surface coverage, and announces limited time complimentary detection solution for remote interviews
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ – GetReal Security, the cybersecurity leader specialized in mitigating digital identity threats posed by malicious generative AI (GenAI) content, today announced broader real-time deepfake protection coverage for Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex, with protection for Zoom soon to follow. Unlike tools that stop at detection, GetReal Protect allows IT and security teams to identify, investigate, and respond to deceptive identities within seconds of them entering a virtual meeting. This marks a critical advancement in the way enterprises defend today’s expanding identity attack surface at a time when adversarial GenAI use is eroding trust in remote interactions, video likeness, and voice.
The average employee participates in at least two virtual meetings each day, and threat actors are increasingly relying on real-time deepfake audio and video to launch social engineering attacks against finance teams, hiring processes, and account recovery workflows. According to IBM, 16 percent of data breaches between March 2024 and February 2025 leveraged AI, and more than a third of those involved deepfake impersonation attacks. Enterprises can no longer rely upon traditional authentication over digital communication channels based on employees’ familiarity with a voice or face. This new reality requires an entirely new perspective on identity and access management (IAM) practices.
“The future of identity protection demands continuous authentication of participant biometrics such as face and voice throughout remote interactions,” said GetReal Security CEO Matt Moynahan. “That journey begins with continuous, real-time protection against AI-powered replication of trusted identities in videoconferencing audio and video streams.”
With video conferencing now a primary collaboration channel for distributed teams, continuous employee identity and likeness validation within these platforms must be a top priority. Microsoft Teams, Webex, and Zoom account for 96 percent of the videoconferencing market making GetReal Protect’s expanded real-time deepfake defense available for the digital collaboration and unified communications platforms enterprises use most. Security operations teams can now defend against GenAI-fueled deception in collaboration environments previously invisible to enterprise identity security programs, laying the foundations of continuous identity protection.
In response to the growing wave of deepfake-enabled candidate fraud, the company is offering complimentary access to its GetReal Protect solution for imposter detection technology for hiring use cases for a limited time with enrollment before Dec. 31, 2025. Gartner® predicts that, "By 2028, one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake." And "Gartner inquiry indicates growing concern from recruiting leaders over candidates who lack the necessary skills and qualifications using GenAI or deepfakes in interviews and assessments."*
GetReal Protect expands the scope of identity threat detection and response practices to include GenAI-based impersonation threats. This more holistic approach is anchored by GetReal Protect’s Identity Threat Graph, which maps deceptive and suspicious identities that have joined video conferences, links them to impacted parties, and provides relevant context to illustrate the “blast radius” of a real-time deepfake incident.
Complementing this visibility is detection technology that goes far beyond the generic classifiers provided by most tools. GetReal Protect detects forensic artifacts of AI manipulation and is continuously validated to ensure explainability and scientific rigor. In addition, the product applies threat intelligence curated by the GetReal Security Threat Intelligence team, including known fraudulent remote IT worker identities and default faces included in popular GenAI tools used to create deepfakes.
Along with highly accurate detection in seconds, the platform supporting GetReal Protect is designed for action. Rather than burdening end-users with deciding what to do about an alert in the middle of a call, GetReal Protect plugs into security operations workflows through SIEM and SOAR solution integrations, enabling options for automated responses. For example, calls that include a deceptive identity may eject the flagged user, or continue under observation for intel-gathering purposes with secure storage of recorded evidence placing investigators at the scene of the crime. Configurable policies also let enterprises choose which users and calls are monitored to align with corporate standards and compliance.
With its latest release, GetReal Security not only delivers real-time protection against deepfakes in video conferencing but establishes a foundation for its vision of continuous identity protection across the enterprise.
